Itinerary

• Day 1: Londorossi Gate (2,100m) to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,820m)
  Distance: 6 km   |   Time: 3–4 hours   |   Zone: Rainforest
  Drive from Moshi/Arusha to Londorossi Gate for registration, then continue to the Lemosho trailhead. Trek through rich rainforest teeming with wildlife to reach Mti Mkubwa Camp.
  Overnight at Mti Mkubwa Camp.
• Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp (3,610m)
  Distance: 8 km   |   Time: 5–6 hours   |   Zone: Moorland
  Climb steadily through the forest and enter the moorland zone. Enjoy stunning views of Shira Ridge and Kibo Peak as you approach Shira Plateau.
  Overnight at Shira 1 Camp.
• Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp (3,850m)
  Distance: 7 km   |   Time: 3–4 hours   |   Zone: Moorland
  A short, easy day to allow for acclimatization. Cross the scenic Shira Plateau with magnificent views of the Western Breach and glaciers.
  Overnight at Shira 2 Camp.
• Day 4: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp (3,960m) via Lava Tower (4,630m)
  Distance: 10 km   |   Time: 6–8 hours   |   Zone: Alpine Desert
  Ascend to Lava Tower for acclimatization (lunch stop), then descend to the scenic Barranco Camp. This “climb high, sleep low” strategy enhances acclimatization.
  Overnight at Barranco Camp.
• Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (3,995m)
  Distance: 6 km   |   Time: 4–5 hours   |   Zone: Alpine Desert
  Climb the dramatic Barranco Wall with panoramic views. Continue across ridges and valleys to reach Karanga Camp — a key acclimatization stop.
  Overnight at Karanga Camp.
• Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,673m)
  Distance: 4 km   |   Time: 3–4 hours   |   Zone: Alpine Desert
  A short, steep trek leads to Barafu Camp. Spend the afternoon resting and preparing for the midnight summit attempt.
  Overnight at Barafu Camp.
• Day 7: Summit Day – Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), then down to Mweka Camp (3,110m)
  Distance: 5 km up / 12 km down   |   Time: 6–8 hrs up, 6–8 hrs down   |   Zones: Arctic to Moorland
  Begin the summit push at midnight. Reach Stella Point (5,756m), then continue to Uhuru Peak — the Roof of Africa. After photos and celebration, descend to Mweka Camp.
  Overnight at Mweka Camp.
• Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (1,640m)
  Distance: 10 km   |   Time: 3–4 hours   |   Zone: Rainforest
  Final descent through lush rainforest. Receive your summit certificate at Mweka Gate and transfer back to Moshi/Arusha for rest and celebration.
  End of trek.
